The Lenfest Institute for Journalism is a nonprofit organization whose sole mission is to develop sustainable solutions for local journalism. The Institute provides grant funding and training programs, offers strategic consulting services, organizes communities of practice, and synthesizes best practices to develop and disseminate sustainable solutions to the business challenges facing local news providers. As the non-controlling parent organization of The Philadelphia Inquirer and the co-founder of Spotlight PA, the Institute supports journalists and news organizations serving local communities in Philadelphia, across Pennsylvania, and around the United States.
