At the University of Maryland Philip Merrill College of Journalism, located just outside Washington, D.C., undergraduate and graduate students practice innovative, real-world journalism from day one — with guidance from an all-star, experienced faculty that has combined to win 17 Pulitzer Prizes and Peabody Awards.
Our students specialize in investigative, data, broadcast, sports and public affairs journalism. They report from Washington, Baltimore, Annapolis and College Park through our Capital News Service. They investigate issues of national importance at our Howard Center for Investigative Journalism and learn to look beyond the box score at The Shirley Povich Center for Sports Journalism. Data reporting is weaved through every inch of our curriculum and practiced in our signature programs. Our graduates are hired and desired by the top news outlets in the country.
Merrill College offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees, and recently began offering a from-anywhere data journalism master’s that can be completed entirely online. Visit our booth at ONA23 for more information!
