It has been installed in over 160 workspaces and supports 8 different language models. RJI 2022 Fellow Ryan Restivo built this project to create a free resource to help journalists with SEO. YESEO connects with RJI’s mission to deliver free, accessible, practical innovation to newsrooms of every size.
YESEO's goal is to reduce the time to come up with that relevant headline, the right keywords to use and give you the right information at the right time to help you get your work seen and read! For anyone who wants to get their story out there, YESEO will give them the power of seeing every important keyword in their story and getting insights they can act on using Natural Language Processing and Generative AI.
“YESEO ushered in a new era for our newsroom to experience responsible AI as a tool, not competition. In part by running the YESEO app for just a few seconds to generate suggested keywords, we saw our biggest digital engagement for a story in over a year. We have maximized the reach of our reporting by integrating the app into the daily workflow, which is especially crucial for an outlet of our size.”
Jenna Dooley News Director, WNIJ Public Radio
“We’ve used it as a tool to sharpen our headline writing. If somebody was stuck on a headline, I would say try YESEO and see what you get and oftentimes we end up with a better headline because of it. We don’t use Slack at all, but it was easy. I just created a Slack for us and we integrated it in there. It’s a rare piece of technology that was so frictionless and easy.”
Ryan Welton Director of Digital Content for Griffin Media
The YESEO app was created as Ryan Restivo's RJI Fellowship project. The goal of this app is to help newsrooms with SEO best practices. The idea came from an editor who asked Ryan, "Why did our story not rank on the first page of Google?"
Get your story ranked, add the YESEO app to your Slack.
